Mission Statement
Mission
At HSWC, we will ensure that every scholar is known as a whole person and we will support each of them to be prepared to take on and be successful in the world beyond our school community. We will provide meaningful educational experiences for our students including, but not limited to, higher education courses, career exploration opportunities, civics readiness and community service engagement. Our mission is to work with each scholar to fulfill their academic, social, emotional and life goals, providing them with a solid foundation and the freedom to make choices and exercise agency.
Vision
At HSWC, we believe that diversity and individuality is powerful. We believe that our students, not regardless of, but because of where they come from, what life experiences they’ve had, and what languages they speak, bring with them the very hope of what we want for the world around us. We believe our scholars represent the culture and values of PRIDE: Power, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Equity that will make this world a better place.
Instructional Focus
If students are provided with engaging, cognitively rigorous lessons that embed critical reading, writing, thinking and speaking strategies, and tiered interventions focused on literacy, then students’ academic achievement and English proficiency will increase.
